Styled for the Bachelor Chef

Glass, black leather, stainless steel and one bachelor chef are all the ingredients needed to make this kitchen update manly.
While we were refinishing the cabinets and adding the bar we opted to remove an awkward cupboard that was to the right of the window. Not only did this open up the visual flow it added much needed natural light to this north facing room.

The ceiling was awkward but with no budget we used a warm paint colour to disguise the bulkhead. New track lighting was an inexpensive solution that helped add functionality and drama.

The flooring had already been replaced when I got the call to rescue this kitchen from a DIY gone wrong. On a very tight budget, we changed the paint to complement the warm tones in the tile and this calmed the space visually. The cupboards were refaced and the counter was replaced with a formica that emulates the look of concrete. By custom designing a floating glass bar we created a great area for guests to hang out with the resident chef.
